Travel Blogger Tales with Ayse from Coffee and Cwtches

My name is Ayse (Eye-sha), Girlfriend to MM and mum of 2 little girls, Pops, 5 and R, 1. I am from East London but MM and I moved to South Wales about 6 years ago to start a new life somewhere nicer for our children to grow up. I write the blog CoffeeandCwtches which is all about our lives in Wales, parenting and supporting our daughter in Welsh medium education as non Welsh speaking parents.

Where was your favourite ever trip?

This is such a hard question because there are different reasons for trips being my favourite. The first time MM and I went to New York was incredible and something I’ll never forget but earlier this year we went to Menorca with both girls and it was incredible.

What made you choose to go there and who did you go with?

We actually went to the same hotel a few years ago with Pops when she was 2 so knew we liked it. It was a family holiday just the 4 of us.

What made it so specialĀ

I think the hotel is average but the memories we had there from when Pops was small and the staff that we remembered from the first time made it special for us. When we walked through the door it just felt like a home. We plan to go back next year too. The first time we went we stuck to the hotel and surrounding but this time we explored further out and got the bus into the city. It was amazing to be able to walk around and see how beautiful the buildings are. We found a really nice bakery there too!

Where was your least favourite trip and why?

I don’t think any trip i’ve been on has been 100% bad but there have been bad parts of trips. The second time we went to New York I was 5 weeks pregnant with Pops and I found the walking quite hard. We went with my brother and sister and neither of them knew I was pregnant so I just had to suffer in silence.

What destination is on your Bukit list?

There’s so many places I want to go to. I want to explore more of America, and go to Japan and Australia. I think the thing I want to do most is take my kids to Disney. I never got to experience it as a child and it’s something I know Pops would love.
